Laurel Relay for Life Reaches Out to SAVAGE

The American Cancer Society’s 25th Annual Relay For Life will be held in Laurel on June 13-14, 2009. This team-oriented walk is the largest volunteer fundraiser in the world and it has raised billions of dollars for the American Cancer Society to fund treatment and prevention of cancer, patient outreach, and community education initiatives. Teams include 8 or more members who join together to fundraise and participate in the capstone event where we Celebrate survivors, Remember our loved ones, and affirm our commitment to FIGHT BACK! Teams are forming now, and we need you!

Savage and Laurel are linked by the mills and the river which were the basis for our towns. We are linked by Route 1 and our shared commerce. We are linked in humanity through our families who suffer when cancer strikes. We are linked by our higher calling to do more in our communities – and make them better than we found them. The Laurel community welcomes your participation in this event which provides a uniquely healing and unifying experience.

To learn more, please join us anytime on Tuesday, December 9th at the Laurel Lakes Greene Turtle Restaurant for our fundraiser and Kick Off event.
