Savage Loves Our Volunteer Fire Company - SVFC
2008 has been a year of renewed community spirit in Savage, Maryland. After all the successes this year, we would like to take the time to recognize the Savage Volunteer Fire Company and the huge role they have played and continue to play in our community.
Mo and his team have been instrumental in supporting every single community initiative in 2008. From Savage Fest in June to National Night Out in August to the fabulous Open House in October, providing a organized and professional polling location, providing Santa for the Community Tree Lighting, VIN Etching, to providing a safe, clean meeting space for Neighborhood Watch, Serving Up Breakfast with Santa and ending the year with the exciting Santa ride through our town.
We hear the sirens everyday and we sometimes learn to tune them out, but the next time you hear the siren, think of this. Our dedicated professionals and volunteers at the SVFC are responding to anywhere between 300-400 calls per month! That's amazing.
Give a shout out to the folks at the SVFC and make sure you thank them and wave as you see them out and about. They love baked goods and appreciate donations of food and money! You are welcome to stop in anytime to drop off a little token of appreciation.
The Savage Volunteer Fire Company is proud to announce their officers for 2009.

Please take the time to write a thank you note to our SVFC and don't let the song fool you. These folks do a lot more in our community than just rescue us! They are the heartbeat of our community!

Thanks... that was a great tribute to a really fine organization. We look forward to 2009 and continuing to serve the emergency services needs of the citizens of the area.
