Howard County Releases Final Draft
Transit Development Plan

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Government has just released the final draft of a Transit Development Plan which recommends future service expansions and capital improvements for Howard Transit. The comprehensive assessment, required by the State of Maryland every five years, is based on months of hearings and work sessions where the public had an opportunity to comment and make recommendations regarding the strengths and weaknesses of our local transit system. The assessment was prepared by County consultant KFH Group.

The consultant’s final draft is now available online at www.howardcountymd.gov through a link under “What’s New” on the County’s homepage. A copy of the full draft report may also be viewed at the Department of Planning & Zoning’s office in Columbia by calling Roberta Jackson, 410-313-4311, for an appointment.

The Public Transportation Board will take final public comment on the draft Plan at its Tuesday, February 24 meeting at 7 p.m. in Tyson Room-2, 8930 Stanford Boulevard in Columbia. Written comments on the draft plan may also be sent to Ms. Jackson at the address above or by e-mail no later than February 24 to: rejackson@howardcountymd.gov.
