Green Life Festival at Savage Mill

Savage Mill announces celebration of art and earth...

The Historic Savage Mill, Maryland Public Television and MIX 107.3 FM will partner to host the “GreenLife Festival” May 2 - May 3, 2009, celebrating “Green Culture” and benefiting the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

Weekend events feature a personality from MIX 107.3 FM, bluegrass and rock concerts “On the Green,” beer tastings by Rams Head and live music in the Court Yard, green demonstrations by performers and Mill merchants, and “Soaring Green” zip-line rides by Terrapin Adventures.

Additionally, the ongoing “GreenScape” art exhibit will showcase local artists’ work beginning April 15, 2009 and culminating with an auction and reception on Sunday, May 3, at the Savage Mill Cotton Shed Gallery. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the auction and the festival will benefit the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

The Historic Savage Mill, a once working textile mill, is home to many antique shops, specialty shops, offices, and restaurants.

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is the only independent 501(c)(3) organization dedicated solely to restoring and protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers.
