Disaster Volunteer Trainings and Information Sessions
Thursday, March 12, 2009 and/or Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 6:30-7:30 pm – General Disaster Volunteer Orientation – Identify ways you can prepare today to serve in times of disaster or an emergency. Learn which agencies may require additional volunteers after a disaster. Call 410-715-3179 or email pam@volunteerhoward.org to register or to obtain more information.
Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 6:30-8:30 PM – Disaster Volunteer Mobilization Training. Following an incident many individuals may wish to volunteer. The Volunteer Center, at the request of Howard County’s Department of Citizen Services, will assist with the registration and referral of these spontaneous volunteers to registered agencies requesting volunteers.
Community volunteers are being trained to help with this process. Might you be interested? If you are willing to assist with the coordination of human resources, call 410-715-3179 or email pam@volunteerhoward.org to register or to obtain more information.

CERT – Citizen Emergency Readiness Training - Classes will be held at James N. Robey Public Safety Training Center 2200 Scott Wheeler Drive (formerly Alpha Center Drive), Marriottsville.

Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 10 am – 2 pm – Ready When the Time Comes – An American
Red Cross training that supports ARC mass care and bulk distribution efforts.

Should Howard County Public Schools close due to inclement weather or an emergency, these programs will be rescheduled.
