Dating Violence Seminar 4/15/09 7-9 p.m.

The Domestic Violence Center of Howard County is proud to announce our first community panel discussion! In light of recent events surrounding the altercation between Chris Brown and Rhianna and the increase of media coverage on domestic and dating violence, we feel it is important to create a forum where these issues could be discussed.

This event is being supported by the Howard County Police Department, Howard Community College, the HC Sherriff’s Department, The Horizon Foundation, Leadership Howard County Leadership U, Women’s Giving Circle, Howard County Public School System, and the Columbia Foundation. All of these organizations are helping us publicize this event, and we are asking for your help as well. Attached to this email you will find a flyer for the event, please print, forward, and pass along this flyer to your family, friends and coworkers.

We hope that you can make this event and we encourage you to bring your families and friends along as well. The seminar will have a panel discussion featuring Clinical Director Amy Abrams, New Behaviors Director Chris Murphy, HCPD Domestic Violence Unit Detective Molly Gale, and other community members.

This event is very important with raising the awareness for not only the issue of dating/domestic violence, but also for the DVC; your help with this is much appreciated. Contact me if you have any questions and if you plan on attending that evening please let me know, seating is limited.
