Police arrest 22 men during reverse prostitution operation

Howard County police have charged 22 men with solicitation of prostitution during an undercover operation in North Laurel. Vice detectives and female officers worked Friday afternoon to identify suspects soliciting prostitutes along U.S. 1. Female officers in plain clothes stood in areas targeted by citizen complaints to determine whether they would be approached and offered money for sex. Suspects who approached the female officers and made such offers were arrested.

The following suspects were arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution:
• Horacia Amurrlo, 41, of Silver Spring
• Robert Leon Broton Jr., 51, of Laurel
• Carlos Mauricio Silvia Chavez, 28, of Columbia
• Hector Sanches Cruz, 29, of Laurel
• Juan Manuel Vilchi De La Cruz, 29, of Laurel
• Darrell Rex Drummond, 44, of Burtonsville
• Tommy David Echard, 42, of Laurel
• Ismael Esteva-Martinez, 35, of Laurel
• Cristian Garcia-Escobort, 25, of Beltsville
• Bruce Wally Hart, 51, of Glen Burnie
• Calvin Nathaniel Hunter, 47, of Laurel (also charged with resisting arrest)
• Robert James Lindsey, 30, of Lanham
• Julio David Prem Martinez, 25, of Laurel
• Tulio Renel Perez-Najera, 24, of Laurel
• Mario Chave Quintanill, 23, of Laurel
• Erick Victelio Silvia, 24, of Laurel
• Mark Steven Smith, 45, of Clarksville
• Miguel A. Valasquez-Hernandez, 25, of Hyattsville
• Julio Alberto Vazquez-Barrera, 28, of Laurel
• Elmer Perla Venture, 26, of Silver Spring
• Eugene David Webster, 61, of Laurel
• Lawrence Herbert Whitehead Sr., 82, of Savage
