Proposed Design for the New Savage Fire House



The Design Advisory Panel reviewed the Savage Fire Station project last night, 12/9/09. This is an image of the project submitted by the applicant. The panel recommended the applicant consider a few design changes to the building. The applicant now has the opportunity to make design changes or to respond to the recommendations.

The Design Advisory Panel (DAP) reviews development, redevelopment and construction projects within the US Route 1 Corridor and age restricted adult housing that requires a conditional use permit.

Purpose: To improve design compatibility with surrounding development, to promote revitalization, and to enhance property values, the DAP process encourages excellence in the project’s architecture and site design.

Love it! very contemporary. Certain parts of Savage could use a facelift.

I'm so happy for the SVFC that the fire house will be moved outside of the residential area of Savage! It seems like most calls are out on Rt. 1 anyway and this should improve response times. The old fire house is outdated and too small. No more sirens at 6 a.m.
